Club Meeting October 20

D.G. Darcy Mykytyshn

A.D.G. Sue's notes on Darcy's visit…

"Darcy was very complimentary regarding the achievements of our club, e.g the amount raised by the Outhouse races, the setting up of the "hitching posts" (bike racks) to benefit the community, the progress of the Trail project, donations from BRECS and monies raised from the past MTAs, keeping Lindsey Kimmet's memory alive, in the community.

He also spoke about our role as Labour Day Marshals being a great honour.

Darcy researched our club through the website and thought it was a credit to how it is presented, and that we have a presence on social media.

He complimented the club on its energy and imagination and said that it is creating a lasting impact.
He mentioned that he was impressed that we have EarlyAct, Interact, and Rotaract clubs, supporting many youth programs at home and abroad.

He then asked club members to fill out a simple worksheet expressing ideas connected to the 4 pillars of the Rotary Action Plan, which Hank can use to choose one goal for his year.

Darcy presented Scott Grattige with his Paul Harris x 4 and commended Hank for stepping up to be club President this year."

Cochrane Light Up is an annual festive event that kicks off the holiday season in our Historic Downtown. This year's event will be on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

This year, we are offering $300 to Cochrane groups or organizations that can help us prepare for the event (in the days/hours leading up) and help during the event/clean up. If you can help in another way, let us know!

We are looking for 6 to 8 volunteers from your group to help us with various Cochrane Light Up tasks.

Let's begin the conversation.
