President's Handover Party
Jackie and Kevin Shier hosted a great party on June 28 to celebrate Kevin's Presidency.
About 30 members and guests attended. We enjoyed drinks, socializing and a great roast beef dinner. Kevin thanked the outgoing Board members. We toasted Kevin with individual stories. Scott shared a great story about Kevin's grandfather. Michael, Judie, Melissa, Allan and Crystal presented Kevin with the Giraffe award for "sticking his neck out".
Indigenous Outreach
To celebrate National Indigenous Day and bring two cultures together, Rotary sponsored Indigenous dancers at Bethany Care.
Pictures beside and below.

Bethany has 6 Indigenous elders in their care and most residents do not get the opportunity to get out and enjoy events.

We were able to help bring a lively and educational cultural event to the residents that also celebrated and honored the Elders living at Bethany.

Organizers said: The seniors thoroughly enjoyed the event and were talking about it for days afterwards!

Kudos to Jackie Shier (Bethany) and Melissa Engdahl (Rotary Community Service)!
